Cookies and visit statistics

The site "This is the Balkans, baby!" (balkansbaby.com) is run by Olesya Kuprina. We don't sell data and we don't show ads. There is no registration on the site, and the forms don't collect personal data.

What we use

Only after you consent in the banner, two analytics services are switched on:

• Yandex Metrica — how many people read the site, where they come from, which pages they view and how far they read. Webvisor is enabled: an anonymised recording of actions on the page (scrolling, clicks), with no input into fields. Cookies of the _ym* type, lifespan up to 1 year.
• Google Analytics 4 — the same traffic metrics. Advertising features and data sharing for advertising are disabled. Cookies of the _ga* type, lifespan up to 2 years.

Without your consent, these services are not loaded. Your choice is stored in the browser's memory (localStorage); we don't set any cookies ourselves.

Maps and external services

Maps load libraries and the base map from external servers (cdnjs, unpkg, the map server) only when you scroll down to the map. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Links to Telegram, Instagram and organisers' websites lead to third-party sites with their own rules.

How to change your decision

At any time, click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page. If you decline after having consented, the statistics cookies will be deleted.
