To understand Serbia, it helps to know who Karađorđe was.
The Great Hall of NIS in Novi Sad hosts a one-man show based on a text by Milovan Vitezović. Aleksandar Srećković plays Karađorđe and directed the whole thing himself. It is a first-person story: the life of the leader of the First Serbian Uprising from birth to his return to Serbia in 1817, the rise and collapse of the uprising, personal tragedies. Live folk music accompanies it: the frula, the duduk and the gajde.
The play is in Serbian, so it's also pretty good language practice.
