The harpsichord is what happens when the 17th century sounds in a gallery rather than in a textbook.

From 2 to 8 November, Belgrade hosts the 23rd international harpsichord festival. The chamber music concerts will take place in the galleries of the SANU Cultural Centre and Artget, with musicians from the region and across Europe performing.

I'd start with Tuesday, 3 November, at 20:00: Sonja Leipold from Austria will play Jacquet, Paradies, Martínez and Scarlatti. On Thursday, 5 November, at 18:00, Italian Ottaviano Tenerani presents a programme with Froberger, Trabaci, Erbach and Merula. On Friday the 6th there will be a presentation of Milan Popović's album “Les pièces de clavecin”, and the festival closes on 8 November with Sofija Perović and Svetlana Stojanović Kutlača. The guest artists will also hold masterclasses for pupils and students of Belgrade's music schools, and admission to the concerts is free.
