Photo exchange: ⛰️👣 Friendly hike — Divčibare — 1 June

Hi everyone! Today our creative crew opened the summer trekking season — we set off to explore Divčibare. This is our first trial friendly hike! I hope there'll be many more and that together we'll build a collection of Serbian peaks, and not only Serbian ones.

And today we walked along pine trails, admired the landscapes, photographed flowers, lizards and even one snake (with which, luckily, our paths quickly parted). We chatted, laughed, fed our mental neural nets new images and simply enjoyed nature and good company🫶🏻

Share your shots in the comments — let everyone keep a little piece of this atmosphere! Thanks everyone for this great day! And we'll still pop over to watch the sunset)

Huge thanks for the route and the guidance, @zzzloyed

Crocuses on Divčibare

🌸 Crocuses — flowers with a Balkan character

This weekend in Divčibare we got more than we bargained for. We went looking for pink heather and found crocuses too.

The snow in the mountains still lies in patches, the grass is only just thinking about waking up, and the meadows are already covered with little crocuses — those very first heralds of spring.

And here are a few facts about these little ones:
🌸 In Serbia crocuses usually appear from late February to April, and in the mountains they can hold on until May. Sometimes they literally push their way through the snow — which is why many consider them the most stubborn flowers in the Balkans.

🌸Most often you'll find purple, lilac, white and yellow ones.
Sometimes — striped or with a contrasting centre. We were incredibly lucky: in a field of purple ones we found a single white one.

🌸Crocuses almost always grow in large groups, sometimes in whole carpets. So it's impossible to walk calmly past a meadow full of them).

🌸And yet the plants themselves are tiny — only 10–15 cm, but they easily survive frost and snow.
Their character is clearly Balkan.

📍 Where to look in Serbia:
The best places to look for crocuses are
— mountain meadows
— sunny glades
— light forests.

There are lots of them on Zlatibor, Kopaonik, Goč, Zlatar and other Serbian mountains.
And, as it turns out, in Divčibare too. And on Threads I saw photos of crocuses from Kalemegdan.

Crocuses only last a few weeks, so if you want to see them, don't put it off.
And if you've already seen crocuses — that's it, consider spring in the Balkans officially started.

Maslenitsa and a pancake picnic on Divčibare

🥞 Welcoming spring and a pancake picnic in Divčibare!🤗

UPD: postponed by a week due to the weather. The trip for the Pancake picnic and welcoming spring will take place on March 1!

We thought and thought and didn't come up with anything new) So we're inviting you on February 22 March 1 to see off winter together! A tried-and-tested programme, but a new route! This time we're going for a walk in Divčibare, the very place where the air already smells of spring, even if the calendar still has its doubts.

What awaits us:
— an easy and beautiful route (suitable for everyone aged 5 and up — tested by participants' own feet)
— a walk through a pine forest with no heroic climbs
— a hunt for the first spring flowers (fingers crossed for pink heather!)
— viewpoints and that very fresh forest air that makes it worth leaving the city in the first place!

And once we've walked our fill — the main part begins 👇
🔥 A real Maslenitsa:
— old Russian games for kids and adults,
— a team tug of war,
— a photo shoot in "Marfushechka-dushechka" style — get your headscarves and good mood ready 😄
— hot fragrant tea brewed right on camping stoves,
— pancakes! Lots of pancakes! With condensed milk, with jam, with sour cream!😋(overeating officially allowed)

And, of course, we'll make a winter effigy and ceremonially send it on vacation until next year 🔥

Price of participation from Belgrade:
🚍 60€ adult / 50€ child — with our transfer (for a group of 8 or more)
🚗 30€ adult / 20€ child — in your own car
Price of participation from Novi Sad:

Photo exchange: "Postponed Maslenitsa" in Divčibare

Well, now it's official — spring has arrived. And we welcomed it in a way that, it seems, couldn't have been better 😍

36 people from Belgrade and Novi Sad descended on Divčibare — these parts have never seen such an invasion of Russians.
We walked through snow, in places through mud, and then across meadows strewn with crocuses. We saw a million purple ones and a couple of white ones. We found pink heather: it's only just waking up, but on the sunny meadows it's already turning properly pink.
The weather was simply fairytale, at least 17 degrees by the feel of it, and sunshine — the first gift of spring!

This time we were in no hurry at all: an easy hike, and at the viewpoint we managed to lounge around, sunbathe and take a whole new set of photos, even for Tinder😉. Then we chilled at a café and went off to celebrate Maslenitsa by the old calendar.
And there everything was by the book:
200 blini, red and white mulled wine, herbal tea (from herbs we picked ourselves!), gingerbread, pies and the legendary banana bread — Lena, thank you once again🫶🏻

After the mulled wine, the games predictably)) reached a whole new level of competitiveness.

Brooms were flying — Yulia and Lena won the adult round, Maksik won the kids' one.

Yan crushed the speed blini-eating contest — an absolute monster.

Yulia out-skipped everyone at jump rope.

Andrey threw the king-size bottle the farthest.

The mass tug-of-war was won by a mixed Belgrade–Novi Sad team

In the family battle the Almazovs beat the Tarasovs (but it was a serious fight!).

And among the kids, Lada and Valeria out-pulled Maksik and Maksimilian.

Honestly — we ran out of time, otherwise we'd have done sack races too 😂😂

This was our biggest trip ever and definitely the most fun, heartfelt and warm one. We managed to get to know each other, talk our heads off, laugh ourselves silly and breathe in air so good we wanted to take it home in a jar.

A special delight was the effigy made by our creative team. It turned out to be some kind of Maslenitsa Maleficent 🙂 And it burned beautifully at sunset, taking with it the cold and all the winter worries. May spring be light and happy.

Thank you, everyone! — without you this day wouldn't have been the same.
To Ed — for leading us exactly where we needed to go.
To Lyuda — for helping with the organization.
To Olya — for the wonderful Novi Sad team.

I could go on listing people for ages, but then I'd definitely forget someone — so just huge hugs to everyone 🤍
And vidimo se!
